Project: GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) ACCOUNTING & VERIFICATION

GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) ACCOUNTING & VERIFICATION

Our Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting includes the systematic process of measuring, calculating and reporting an organization's greenhouse gas emissions to establish a carbon footprint and track climate progress. We track seven major greenhouse gases; Carbon dioxide (CO₂), Methane (CH₄), Nitrous oxide (N₂O), Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), Sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) and Nitrogen trifluoride (NF₃).

Our GHG accounting methodology mainly covers emissions which are divided into three operational categories to clarify control and responsibility; i.e. Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Direct greenhouse gas emissions from sources owned or controlled by the company, such as company vehicles, on-site fuel combustion and industrial processes, Scope 2 (Indirect Energy Emissions): Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased or acquired electricity, steam, heating and cooling consumed by the organization and Scope 3 (Value Chain Emissions): All other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s upstream and downstream value chain, including business travel, employee commuting, waste disposal and purchased goods.

We consider activity based method which uses physical activity data (such as liters of fuel burned or kilowatt-hours of electricity used) multiplied by specific emission factors. This provides the highest accuracy and spend-based method.

The GHG protocol standard, ISO Standards (ISO 14064 Series) and IPCC guidelines are the basis for our work to measure, track and report planet-warming emissions across nations, industries and facilities. Our qualified and certified lead GHG verifiers bring their rich industrial experience in this activity.

Our work is not only restricted to GHG baseline data collection and inventorisation but we are focusing on providing cost-effective Carbon emission reduction strategic levers which can be embraced by the project proponent in sustainable manner.
